Baby Hat and Blanket

Good morning friends

Today for Finished Friday I have a baby hat I made for a friend who had a new Grandson. This is actually a stitch sequence I've used for the last few hats I've made and I really like it. I don't know who came up with it, I THINK it's called the Hurdle Stitch but I'm not sure. Please leave me a comment below if you know who to credit the stitch sequence to.

It is a 4 row sequence, rows 1 & 2 are E-wrapped. Rows 3 & 4 are Knit 1, Purl 1 across. Repeat until the hat is deep enough. I used a CinDWood 44 peg hat loom, and used the Navajo method of knitting 3 strands from a single ball of yarn. The the sequence was started after the garter stitch brim was wide enough for my liking.

I love to make a stroller blanket for new babies, so I crochet one to match the hat in my favourite "V Stitch".

And the set all getting packaged up for gift giving.

My friend shared a picture of little Sam wearing his new hat and all snuggled in his car seat with his new blanket - so sweet!

Cream Spiral Hat

Good morning friends

For Finished Friday, I have a cream spiral hat to share.

Now this hat was done a very long time ago - before I kept track of what I was making, what loom I used and what stitches. So I'm afraid I have no pattern or details ... I tended to just wing it when loom knitting my hats.

Ha, I still just wing it - doing whatever stitch appeals to me at the moment. But now, I'm keeping track in a notebook.

I have a folder full of older loomed projects that have never been posted and I'm going to pull them out and start sharing them.

Thanks for stopping by today

Finished Lightweight Cowl

Good morning friends

I am so glad I decided to block my cowl - it opened up the stitches and it lays so much nicer. I used an iron and a damp towel to block, in case you are wondering.

It matches the hat (click HERE) perfectly.

Lightweight Cowl is off the loom!

Good morning friends

Today for Finished Friday, I'd like to show you my Lightweight Cowl is off the loom and ready for assembly. I was going to just stitch the ends together, but now I think I will block it first.

I'm happy with how it turned out, and I'm liking the soft colours!

Lightweight Cowl - a Work In Progress

Good morning friends

I have been busy with my looms, in between having two different sets of out-of-town guests, babysitting our Grandkids, and landscaping. I thought I would post one of my projects this morning, and found this post in the 'drafts' folder! So I think we will start with this one ... a Work In Progress cowl.

I used a 51 peg CinDWood loom with only 35 of the pegs worked.

I wanted a cowl to match my Lightweight Spiral Hat in THIS post.  (Click HERE).
